Ed.D applications are reviewed on a rolling admission basis until the cohort is formed. Then each respective cohort begins in the summer of odd numbered years. Applicants seeking admission to the Ed.D in Leadership Studieds program must submit the following:
  1. A current resume or curriculum vitae
  2. A 300-500 word essay focused on the applicant's career goals, emphasizing prior leadership opportunities and experiences
  3. Successful completion of a prior master's degree (Note: A professional postgraduate degree will be considered based on relevance to the leadership studies program.)
  4. Official transcripts from the applicant's bachelor's degree and master's degree, as well as any other relevant graduate coursework
  5. Successful completion of a graduate research course within the prior master's degree (or taken subsequently)
  6. One letter of recommendation from an individual in a leadership position representing the applicant's current employer that supports the applicant's participation in the program and verifies capacity for successful future leadership
  7. Two letters of recommendation from individuals who are familiar with the academic performance and/or work experience of the candidate
  8. Official scores on the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) or Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) scores. (Note: Scores already on file at Lynchburg College are acceptable. Individuals who have not taken the test or do not have access to official scores will need to take or re-take the test.)
  9. Evidence of strong writing skills as reflected in scores on the GRE writing sub-test and/or in selected samples of writing from previous graduate programs (e.g., major term paper, master's theses), published work, and /or examples of professional work products related to job responsibilities
Note: For leadership cohort students, a $300 program deposit is required upon notification of admission. The deposit will be refunded upon program completion.
